Our Process

What is a digital decal tile?

Using a computer and a specially designed printer we produce a digital ceramic decal.

The digital decal is composed of ceramic color toners applied to a rubber coated transfer paper.

The tile with applied digital image decal is kiln fired from 1500 to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit (depending on the tile used).

The ceramic color toners in the digital decal when kiln fired, melts with the glaze on the tile to form a permanent bond.

Technical questions ands answers.

Q. How long will the digital image on tile last?

A. All of our digital images have a life time guarantee.

Q. Will a porcelain, ceramic or glass  digital kiln fired tile scratch?

A. Decal images are embedded into a ceramic glaze; unless the kiln fired tile is broken or cracked only then will the image be damaged.

Q. Will the kiln fired digital image fade?

A. Our digital kiln fired image decal is made up of mineral therefore it will never fade.

Q. Can UV rays damage the ceramic colors?

A. The image is made from mineral pigmented ceramic toner, it is almost like colored rocks so they will not change color even in direct sunlight

Q. Can atmospheric acids (pollution) damage the digital image on tile?

A. The kiln fired tile is like glass and is impervious to aggressive substance (such as Oxidation).
